UCIP - About Us

Union Construction Industry Partnership – UCIP – brings together union-signatory construction contractors (the employers) and construction-trades union labor groups (the employees) in a labor-management coalition to advance Northeast Ohio’s construction industry and enhance the benefits of using union construction. As a multi-craft group, UCIP represents contractors and labor unions of all construction trades across the region.

With our alliance of 18,000 skilled construction workers and 1,200 contractors, UCIP is able to proactively advocate for the welfare of the region’s construction industry.

At the same time, UCIP also is committed to communicating its message that working with union contractors who employ skilled union workers always delivers “Quality Won” – because union labor-management collaboration creates better workers and environments that maximize productivity.

To fund UCIP activities and make its goals a reality, union and management equally contribute to the organization.

Through its many programs, UCIP works to ensure the highest safety and quality standards; expand industry employment opportunities; enhance working and living environments for skilled construction-trades workers; and promote fair wages.

Protecting and advancing the Northeast Ohio’s construction industry by advocating for beneficial policies and
promoting the region as a place to build and do business.
Helping to ensure the union construction industry is training the most highly skilled and productive construction workforce available in Northeast Ohio.
Sponsoring educational, marketing and outreach efforts that help create drug-free and safe workplaces.
Marketing the many advantages of the union construction industry to project owners and users of construction.
Informing interested people about careers in union construction through union training and membership.

UCIP promotes harmonious relationships between contractors and workers that foster working environments where work costs and delays are minimized.

In doing so, the 18,000 highly trained construction workers and 1,200 contractors associated with UCIP work together to maximize construction-project productivity, so customers consistently receive superior products.
